Yuan Huang

Yuan serves as the Assistant Director of Policy at the Mayor’s Office of Policy and Legislation. Yuan’s work focuses on addressing policy issues regarding sustainability,  education, and transportation. In her current position, she has worked on policy research for the Philly Bev Tax, expanded pre-K, and anti-poverty efforts. She also helps run GovLabPHL, the City of Philadelphia’s first evidence-based group focused on utilizing behavioral science to increase service utilization.

Previous to her time in city government, she worked at Generation Citizen, an entrepreneurial non-profit focused on engaging young people in action civics. Yuan is a graduate of Temple University in Geography and Urban Studies.  She is also a former AmeriCrops VISTA member, a Morris K. and Stewart L. Udall Scholar, and a Leading for Change Fellow. Yuan is also a former board of the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation and is a co-founder of Philly Asian American Rising.  In her spare time, Yuan likes to travel, read, and cook. She lives in West Philadelphia with her husband and cat
