Ami Patel

 

Ami Patel is the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Philadelphia City Council, working in the Council President’s office. Previously, she worked as a consultant to the Philadelphia Water Department conducting meaningful community engagement, outreach & research in the space of Green Stormwater Infrastructure.

She is extremely passionate about social equity and dedicated to all things Philadelphia, which led her to pursue her Master’s in Public Administration at the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government. During Ami’s time at Fels, she held a fellowship position in the Mayor’s Office, Office of Workforce Development, Managing Directors Office under Strategic Initiatives, Zero Waste and Litter Cabinet, ImpactED, and on Councilwoman Richardson’s campaign. Ami holds her B.A in Operations & Technology Management from Boston University’s School of Management and has worked in private sector technology consulting at Accenture prior to joining Fels. Outside of her professional life, Ami is highly involved in her local Strawberry Mansion - Brewerytown community, a yearly tree planter, and new dog mom. In her free time, you can find her practicing her headstands, working towards her quest to be a handywoman, or finding yet another plant for her home!
