Civic Education Committee
About Young Involved Philadelphia's Civic Education program presents topics of interest or concern in a series of educational forums. Each forum is designed to give its audience a diverse perspective on the topic, raise awareness about the subject, and inspire Philadelphians to take action. Expert panelists are often city leaders and elected officials, but they are also residents, volunteers, and activists affected by and affecting the issues that shape our city. YIP Civic Education offers you topics to grapple with, introduces you to the experts, and provokes you to participate in the evolution of our great city.
YIP's Civic Education programs are at the core of the organization's efforts to get young people involved in the life of the city. The Civic Education committee meets regularly to plan forums and other events that address key topics of widespread interest to young Philadelphians. Through its programs, YIP hopes to engage the curiosity of young people and motivate them to pursue these issues further.
